Jamie Jenkins is the Executive Assistant to the Bishop. Along with representing the Bishop in a variety of capacities, his responsibilities include supervision of the Benefits Office and the Office of Communication. He serves as Executive Secretary of the Conference Trustees and the Executive Officer of the Conference Board of Pensions and Health Benefits. He is a member of the Bishop's Cabinet.
Jamie was the Director of Ministerial Services and Spiritual Formation from 1999-2007. Prior to this role, he served four years as the Atlanta-Marietta District Superintendent. Other appointments since 1972 include Roopville, Comer, Bright Star, and Aldersgate. He was a General Conference Delegate in 2000, 2004, and 2008 and has been a delegate to the last four Jurisdictional Conferences. His achievements include the Denamn Award for Evangelism in the North Georgia Conference. He is a graduate of Bryan College (B.A.), Candler School of Theology (M.Div.), and McCormick School of Theology (D.Min.).
Jamie and his wife, Lena, are natives of Mobile, Alabama. They are active in the Peachtree Road UMC. Their family includes Jonas, Jennifer, Jason, and his wife, Keiko and their grandchildren, Jamie and Felicia. He enjoys people, traveling, and playing table tennis.
